What

We worked with the new college principal as the consultant for the EAUC Sustainable Leaders programme to reinvigorate the college’s efforts on sustainability.

There was a sustainability policy which had been produced two years previously, and we helped develop the action plans to take it forward. 

We worked on revitalising the approach, enthusing the senior management team and engaging college staff.

Results

A workshop we ran identified that the college’s forthcoming 150-year anniversary was the perfect hook for the reinvigorated sustainability initiative.

More than half of the staff were involved with workshops defining sustainability and what it
meant to the college, as well as an explanation of how to integrate sustainability into decision-making.

Students were also engaged and, as a result of the project, were given a place on the board of governors.
